“No! Fasting is not confined to religious fanatics, it just happens to be the fastest way to supreme health, well-being and optimum weight levels.

During a fast, the body redirects the energy it would otherwise use for digesting meals and other daily activities, to any problem area in the body. In other words, the body is given an opportunity to focus on cleansing and healing.

Weight loss is also achieved more quickly on a fast as the body burns any excess fat deposits for fuelling its normal functions. (The average weight loss is from half to one kilogram per day.)

People often refer to abstaining from solid foods but drinking juice as a ‘juice fast’. This is, in fact, not a fast as all but a diet. A juice diet to be exact. There is one kind of fast and that is a total abstinence from nourishment of any kind. Even taking in honey or grapefruit juice does not make it a true fast.

True fasting thus means eating nothing at all, drinking only pure water, and resting both physically and mentally. REST IS WHAT A FAST IS ALL ABOUT. A true fast allows the body and mind to rest completely and to redirect energy towards healing and correcting any problems that may exist. Complete rest is vitally important when fasting as it restores the body physically, emotionally and mentally. The ideal setting should be a quiet place away from the family, work, television, radio and the general hustle and bustle of everyday life. The last thing you need on a fast is stress of any description. The mind and body must be in a state of repose.



The benefits of fasting are tremendous. Your general health improves, your skin and eyes glow and you feel as if you’ve had a total ‘overhaul’ or body lift. A properly supervised fast followed by a correct eating programme, is the best and quickest way to glowing health.

A word of caution is needed here. Fasting for more than 2 or 3 days should not be embarked on without the guidance of a health counselor or someone who has both studied and undergone a fast themselves. Do not rush into a fast. It is essential that you are adequately prepared for the fast and properly supervised while fasting. If you are pregnant lactating or on any medication you should be extremely cautious. Fasting is not recommended under these circumstances. If you plan to fast even with the aid of a counselor, read as much as you can on the subject before you begin. Ideally, you should eat only raw foods for as many days before and after as you would be on the fast. In other words, if you are planning a two-day fast, stick to raw foods for two days before you begin, and continue with raw foods for two days after. You don’t just start fasting because you have over-indulged and want to punish yourself. A fast must be planned carefully.



Fasting employed correctly, can result in the body performing miracles. I have seen this not only in myself, but in many other people as well. Take the case of Ingrid, aged twenty-one. Ingrid was diagnosed as having a cyst close to her anus and was told that her only option was surgery. Ingrid chose instead to fast. She started by eating fruit only for a week before the fast (this was to ensure that there was no fermenting , old food in her digestive tract other than fruit) She then embarked on a true fast. By the fifth day, Ingrid reported that her urine and body odour smelt very strongly of Roaccutane. This is a so-called ‘miracle-drug’ that was prescribed for her skin a year previously at an exorbitant cost for a six-month treatment. Ingrid was warned at the time that she should not fall pregnant for at least a year, as the drug could damage the foetus. (Latest research indicates that this period should be 5 years.) All that the drug seemed to achieve was to dehydrate her nasal passages, eyes and skin terribly. Ingrid said that her urine continued to have this odour for a couple more days and that by the eighth day of the fast, the cyst had broken down completely. She then broke her fast drinking fresh juice, and continued to eat fruit and raw vegetables, until she gradually introduced cooked vegetables and carbohydrates. Now, 6 months later, the cyst has not reappeared.



Sandy on the other hand, aged 38, had numerous complaints. She suffered from candida (a type of yeast infection) which resulted in severe digestive problems. Her stomach bloated virtually every time she ate something. (Candida usually results from use of antibiotics, the contraceptive pill and a diet that is high in processed and refined foods.) Even after changing her diet to the Natural Way programme, Sandy still battled with the candida, although there was an improvement in her general health. Encouraged by her doctor, Sandy came to me for a fasting programme. She was able to take time off work and managed to fast, very comfortably I might add, for 16 days. At this stage Sandy felt that she would like to continue her fast, but she needed to get back to work. Sandy had a medical check up, including blood tests, before and after the fast. Before the fast, her doctor said that her liver was not functioning properly, that she could not assimilate or absorb potassium effectively, and that she had the previously mentioned candida problem. After the fast her potassium levels were in the top of the range (from 3.5 m/mol to 4.8 m/mol), her liver was functioning one hundred per cent and the candida problem had cleared up.

Fasting, as can be seen from these case studies, is to be taken seriously and should not be undertaken on a whim. Although fasting for one day a week or once a month is easily achieved and gives the digestive tract a good rest, anything longer should be supervised by an experienced consultant. The duration of your fast depends on your general state of health, fat reserves and whoever is supervising you. There have been cases where severely obese people have fasted for up to 3 months, and then there are frequently cases where individuals should not fast for more than a day or 2 at most.



Fasting for a day or 2 before changing your diet is also a good way to kick-start you into a correct eating programme. This way you make a clean start and somehow after a fast, all that fresh raw food tastes so good. It is also one of the quickest ways I know to stop smoking. I have yet to discover anyone who can fast and still smoke at the same time. Your body is also able to rid itself of the toxins from smoking far more quickly on a fast, and once the fast is broken there is no craving or hankering after the taste of tobacco.”

Well there you go - very interesting stuff. It worked and is still working for me today.

The best to way to know for sure is to try it out for yourself. Try it once and I promise you, when you see the results you will be convinced. It’s all about results. I was tired of all the gimmicks, medicines, quick fixes. And I’m sure you are too. You want answers, right? You want results with no side effects, right? You and I want health and healing in our bodies with no side effects and no high hospital and doctor’s bills. Let me tell you, your body is a powerful weapon that is totally capable of healing itself. Just give it the right stuff (the right food, exercise, good rest) and you will stand in awe of what a powerful machine you possess. Even doctors will tell you, no medicine or drug actually heals you, they are simply aids that aid the body in healing itself.



It was very hard for me to get into fasting. I would start and then not finish because I would get so hungry that it would make me miserable. But I did not allow that to make me feel guilty or inadequate and start quitting. I simply told myself that I would do better next time. So the next time I tried fasting, I failed miserably again. But I did not allow the feelings of guilt get a hold of me and make me quit. I kept trying and trying. I failed many, many times trying to fast for just one day. But each time I tried and failed, I got stronger. My mind grew stronger. I was able to resist the temptation to eat. I would start and then by 10am I could not go on. Then the next time I made it to 12pm in the afternoon and the next time I tried I made it to 2pm. Then I tried again and my fast lasted until 3.30pm. You see I was getting better. I was getting stronger. Why? Because I kept practicing. I was persistent. I did not give up. I did not allow the guilty thoughts and feelings get hold of me. Yes, I did feel guilty. I felt guilt many times for not being able to make it through the day without eating. I felt disappointed. But I quickly realized what I was doing and what was happening. I made myself not feel guilty by changing my thoughts and telling myself that I WILL do better next time around. And guess what? I did do better the next time. Each time I tried fasting I got better and made it past the previous milestones.



Now I can fast for 1 day at the drop of a coin. It’s no problem for me anymore. Why? Because I practiced and practiced. You are no different to me. If I can do it you can do it. So GO FOR IT! Keep trying and trying until you do it. If you fail, it’s fine. Try again! And if you fail AGAIN. Try AGAIN. And if you fail again. Just try again. Do what it takes until you pass and fast for 1 day and then try 2 days and so on. But NEVER GIVE UP! Don’t ALLOW yourself to get discouraged. Don’t ALLOW yourself to feel guilty. Listen, you will feel guilty. You will feel discouraged. But recognize those thoughts and feelings and then stop them dead in their tracks. Have the guilty thoughts, feel discouraged for a few minutes and then STOP! I’m NOT saying you must DENY how you feel. But don’t feel guilty and discouraged for the rest of the week or for the rest of the day for that matter. Don’t dwell on those guilty thoughts and feelings of discouragement. Feel them and them let them GO! The sooner you let them go the better. ;-)  Eat something and tell yourself: ”I will do better next time. I’m getting stronger. I can’t do this overnight. But I will do it soon enough. I just have to do better next time. And I WILL do better next time.” Now hold onto those thoughts. Feel good. And hold onto those good feelings. “…I want to share with you one of the reasons why I know that dis-ease can be reversed by simply reversing mental patterns.
A number of years ago, I was diagnosed with cancer of the vagina. With my background of being raped when I was 5 years old and being a battered child, it was no wonder that I’d manifested cancer in the vaginal area.
Having already been a teacher of healing for several years, I was very aware that I
was now being given a chance to practice on myself and prove what I’d been teaching others. Like anyone who has just been told that they have cancer, I went into a total panic, yet I knew that mental healing worked. Being aware that cancer comes from a pattern of deep resentment that is held for a long time until it literally eats away at the body, I knew that I had a lot of mental work to do.
I realized that if I had the operation to get rid of the cancer but did not clear the
mental pattern
that created it, then the doctors would just keep cutting Louise until there was no more Louise to cut. If I had the operation and cleared the mental pattern that was causing the cancer, then the cancer wouldn’t return.
When cancer or any other illness returns, I don’t believe that it’s because the doctor
didn’t ‘get it all out,’ but rather, that the patient has made no mental changes and so just re-creates the same illness. I also knew that if I could clear the mental pattern that created the condition called cancer, I wouldn’t need the doctor. So I bargained for time. The doctor grudgingly gave me 3 months, at the same time warning me that my life was endangered by the delay.
I immediately began to work with my own teacher to clear old patterns of
resentment
. Up till that time, I hadn’t acknowledged that I harbored deep resentment. We’re often so blind to our patterns. A lot of forgiveness work was in order. The other thing I did was to go to a good nutritionist and completely detoxify my body. So between the mental and physical cleansing, in 6 months I was able to get the medical profession to agree with what I already know; that I no longer had any form of cancer. I still keep the original lab report as a reminder of how negatively creative I could be.
Now when I hear about someone’s illness, no matter what dire their predicament
seems to be, I know that if they’re willing to do the mental work of releasing and forgiving, almost anything can be healed. The word incurable, which is so frightening to so many people, really only means that the particular condition cannot be cured by ‘outer’ methods and that we must go within to effect the healing. The condition came from nothing and will go back to nothing.”

Well I guess the above snippet got most of you thinking. It definitely got me thinking and re-evaluating my conditions – physical and mental.
I guess the choice is yours. Do with it what you will. The trouble with us Human Beings is that it always takes some tragedy that happens either to us or someone we love to move us to embrace truth. But by then it’s too late for most people. The above takes practice. So practice while you still have time and while you are still healthy. Prevention is always better than cure. ;-) Embrace principle. Forget about culture. Cultures change. Principles are forever! Principles have at the very foundation of them truth. You can have cultures that are based on principle(s) but never the other way around. Most cultures especially western cultures are void of principle and void of truth. I encourage you to discover principles. Look for them, search them out. Look for people who practice principle(s) and learn from them. When you find principle(s) embrace them, practice them and most of all love them. Principles will save your life. Principles will give you life.

Let me give you some examples of principles:

“We reap what we sow”
“Love your neighbor as you love yourself”
“Forgive those who trespass against you”
“Bad company corrupts good character”
“As a man thinks in his heart so is he”
“For without discipline a man will die”
“Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”
“Do not judge others.”

And there are many, many more from many religions. Words of Wisdom. Seek them out. Study them. Live them. Principles are not subject to your religious background, race or culture. And not all of them are recorded in the Bible, nor are all of them recorded in the Koran or whichever book you want me to refer to. Principles are scattered in various books of Wisdom, including The Bible and The Koran. They are everywhere. They are alive and they work. Remember this! Principles are impersonal and impartial. They are laws that will work for anybody who will embrace and practice them. Just like the Principle of Gravity or Law of Gravity – gravity does not care whether you are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Baptist, Catholic or whatever. If you violate it, it will take you out. It will either work with you or against you depending on how you use it. Gravity does not care if you believe in it or not. It’s still there and it will work any time and all the time. And so it is with every principle in this universe. They all work whether you believe in them or not. Whether you are aware of them or not they are there working for you or against you all the time, every second, every minute, every hour, 24/7. You can never plead ignorance. Whether you are at work, at play, at home, sleeping - principles are there working in and through each of us. So it’s your choice. I encourage you to live by principle. Principles will make you healthy. They will make you wealthy. They will provide you with everything you need in this life. So seek them out and live by them.

“In my experience, people who have a weight problem usually overeat (especially on fats) and do not get enough exercise.
There are other factors involved, such as a metabolism ruined by going on too many fad or ‘crash’ diets. These only encourage your body to store fuel more effectively and efficiently so as to be ready for the next time you starve yourself.

Another reason often given for a weight problem is hormonal imbalance or a glandular problem. This is often used as an excuse for bad living habits. Many people who have this ‘problem’ are often extremely undisciplined in their eating habits and frequently eat late at night. If a glandular problem truly exists (blood tests would confirm this), then this condition can be sorted out in the long term by eating correctly. For example, refined sugar in the diet can affect the blood sugar level, and this in turn can affect the function of the pituitary gland, the adrenal glands and the thyroid gland. The glandular function then affects the hormonal levels in the body and this can influence the rate of weight loss or gain. Just by eliminating refine d sugar from the diet, these glands could return to normal function. Vinegar is another substance which can affect the thyroid gland. When an organ is continually stimulated artificially (as is this case) it’s activity can become depressed. In other words, from continual stimulation, the thyroid gland can slow down and not function as efficiently as it should. This could result in a sluggish metabolism and difficulty in losing weight...”

“…Don’t be unrealistic, we live in a world filled with an endless variety of junk food that is packaged, designed and promoted in such a way to get us drooling…”

“You will be able to resist the temptation if you stick to a few simple basics:

  1. Do your best to combine food correctly. If you can’t, skipping the next meal often does wonders to sort out the mess in your stomach…”
  2. Do not feel guilty if you break the rules. You’ll be paying enough of a price physically so don’t make it worse by punishing yourself mentally as well. Guilt can often cause you to go on a rebellious binge, which will cause even more damage both mentally and physically.
  3. Do not stock ‘no-no’s’ anywhere in your home. If ice-cream, cakes, biscuits and chocolates are bad for you, they are equally bad for your family…No matter how strong-willed you think you are, you will want to eat these snacks just because they are there.
  4. Do at all times keep as large a variety of the good things in stock and let them be on display……
  5. Remember that presentation is almost as important as taste. If food doesn’t look good , you don’t feel like eating it….With very little effort a salad can look far more enticing than a jam doughnut.

Now for some healthy eating options:

OPTION 1

Wake-up
Glass of the following: water, hot water and fresh lemon, or freshly-squeezed fruit juice.

Breakfast
Half a large pawpaw filled with a sliced banana and 5 chopped dates.
Or
1 banana, 1 apple and 1 pear, diced together and sprinkled with 100ml raisins or dried, unbleached sultanas.
Or
Any 3 fruits from the sweet and sub-acid columns with 100ml dates or raisins or sultanas.

Mid-morning (between 10am and noon)
Try any one of the following options:

1 whole pineapple
2 oranges
3 naartjies
2 mangoes
5 kiwi fruit
2 apples
3-4 peaches
1 large bunch of grapes
8 litchis
8 strawberries
6 apricots
2 pears
As much watermelon or other melon as you like

No tea or coffee should be drunk during the morning
(the caffeine will affect your kidneys, and you will end up retaining water.)
Ensure that you leave at least one hour between lunch and the last fruit you eat.
The will prevent fermentation of the fruit with the other foods in your stomach.

LUNCH
Make a very large salad with any of the following ingredients – lettuce, tomato, celery, red pepper, carrot, spinach, sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, grated butternut, baby marrows, mushrooms, green beans, or any other raw vegetable. Half an avocado may be added to this or used in the following dressing: blend together half an avocado, a little celery, a strip of red pepper, herbal salt and a tomato. Add some water if it is too thick. This salad may be eaten on its own or, if you are very hungry, with one of the following:

1 large baked potato
2 mealies (corn on the cob)
1 medium bowl or brown rice
2 slices home-made wholewheat bread
3 rye biscuits
4 wholewheat biscuits
1 wholewheat pita bread

Mid-afternoon (4pm to 5pm)

A portion of any fruit – one type of fruit such as an apple or an orange.

Supper
Supper must be started with a large, fresh salad followed with as many steamed vegetables as you like. You may add any of the starches mentioned for lunch if all you had then was the salad. Alternatively, you may like to add half a cup of unsalted roasted nuts, or a portion of oven-grilled fish or chicken. For a more tasty option, place the chicken or fish in a casserole dish with mushrooms, celery, red pepper or any vegetable of your choice, adding herbal salt and a selection of herbs….

Try not to eat after 8pm but if you need to snack after supper, any raw vegetable is suitable.

Chicken Scramble

• 120g chicken fillet
• 2 tbs onion, chopped
• 1 cup mushrooms, chopped
• 3 eggs (Remove the yolk - OPTIONAL)
• 1 tsp margarine (Flora Light)
• Mixed Herbs
• 1 Chilli, chopped

Preparation Method:

(1) Boil chicken in the little bit of water in a non stick pan and spice with Mixed Herbs

(2) Brown onions, chili and mushrooms separately in little bit of margarine (Flora Light). once chicken is cooked, cut into bite size pieces and add to onions, chili and mushrooms.

(3) Add eggs (remove yolk - OPTIONAL) and scramble, stirring with wooden spoon until cooked.

(4) Top with some salsa and (serve on toast - optional) or serve with brocolli, butternut, and cheese mix

Our bodies are built up from the food that we eat.

There is a constant breaking down of the tissues of the body; every
movement of every organ involves waste, and this waste is repaired
from our food. Each organ of the body requires its share of nutrition.
The brain must be supplied with its portion, the bones, muscles, and
nerves demand theirs.

It is a wonderful process that transforms the food into blood and uses
this blood to build up varied parts of the body; but this process is
going on continually, supplying with life and strength each nerve,
muscle, and tissue.

Nutrition is one of the most neglected areas of any bodybuilding or fat loss program. Considering the amount of conflicting information available, especially for people who want to build muscle or burn fat, it is no wonder that we often miss the target on nutrition.

So, what is nutrition? Nutrition is the process by which we take in and use food and supplements for health, growth, and energy.

I like the Flora – Heart foundation advert that was on our T.V. channels a few months ago. At the end of the advert, the following question is asked: “If you could see your Heart, would you treat it better?”
I like that. It’s profound. It really made me think.
Then I started thinking and asking myself:

  • If I could see my pancreas, would I treat it better?
  • If I could witness the stress my cells are put under because of
    the food that I eat would I stop eating that food and radically change
    the food I eat?
  • If I saw the damage that unhealthy eating was doing to my body as a whole, would I stop, or would I continue.
  • If your cells had a face and you could witness the anguish in their faces, would you stop?
  • If your cells had a voice, what would they say to you? What food would they ask you to eat?
  • If they told you that even though the food you are eating tastes
    and smells good, its actually putting them under a huge amount of
    stress, would you stop or would you continue listening to your taste
    buds?
  • If your lungs could speak, what would they say to you?
    If your liver could speak, what would it say to you?

Ponder these questions as you continue reading. My guess is that most of us will not want to hear or see what our cells and organs have to say. Most of us would be scared to look at them. Is it a case of, out of sight out of mind? Is it case of, we can eat what we want because we can’t see what’s really going on inside? We poison ourselves daily and we don’t even know it. Large food companies poison us daily, and we don’t even know it. They know it. But they ignore it. It’s easy to ignore it when you have billions in the bank.
It’s amazing and mind-blowing how corruption, power and money can dim the hearts of men and seers their consciousness’ so much so that they are willing to destroy families and nations by continuing to distribute food that is riddled with toxins and poisons that destroy our bodies. The question is, if you and I were in their shoes, would we do the same? I guess some of us would (and I include myself)? Believe me; they are acutely aware of the damage they are doing to nations around the world. We, the consumers, the ‘man in the street’ perish because of a lack of knowledge. We don’t know the truth. We trust the T.V. We trust the grocery stores. We trust the radio. We trust society. We trust the so called ‘norm’. And we rush out and buy what they solicit us to buy unwittingly making them rich while at the same time destroying ourselves and generations after us. We prepare our food the so called ‘modern’ way. Why? Because they had a famous celebrity on T.V. advocating their brand, their way of preparing food, their so called healthy lifestyle. And you swallowed it hook, line and sinker. LOL ;-) These massive food corporations have done the research, they may not have known it when they started selling it to us, but now there is too much money to be lost and so the ‘wheel must continue to turn’ otherwise massive corporations will go bankrupt within months and billions will be lost and they will not allow that. So a handful of individuals stay rich and in power while nations suffer the consequences (sickness, disease, depression, obesity and a host of other ailments) because of these unnatural foods being marketed and sold aggressively with huge marketing budgets that run into the billions.
It’s easy because people don’t die or get sick right away. I guess that thought eases their guilt and numbs their conscious. It’s a gradual poisoning and deterioration of the body. We don’t realize it because it does not happen immediately.

What is even more ironic is that we have degrees in this and that. We know how to accomplish amazing things through technology and yet we are no further than we were with regard to disease, fitness, lifestyle than we were 100 years ago. In fact, we have more diseases, we suffer from the same diseases, we die earlier, we are more obese, we are more unfit, more unhappier. One day you sitting at your computer and you think you are healthy and the next day you are in the hospital. Do you know people like that? Have you heard stories like that? Sure you have. Do you think it can’t happen to you? Sure it can. Best you check your diet and your lifestyle before you answer that question. I have heard it called ‘Reality Check!’ It’s too late to do one when you lying on a white bed or even later when you’re lying in a brown enclosure. ;-)

NUTRITION: How it Affects The Mind and Emotions

When food is cooked, many nutrients are either partially or totally destroyed. The water soluble vitamins B and C are especially vulnerable and are destroyed in foods which are cooked in water, as are the fat-soluble vitamins A, D, E and K when food is fried
Cooking also changes the structure of certain nutrients, resulting in difficulty in assimilation by the body. “Food has certainly been the down-fall of man’s health. With all the rubbish he stuffs into his delicate, yet adaptable organism, it is no wonder that there is so much unnatural disease rampant today.

From the day he ate his first meal man has forever abused his system with the wrong types of food. He has been irrational in his eating habits, and merely satisfied his banal desire for stimulating, refined and processed food.

I will share with you many more anecdotes below. But let me say this, please ponder the words of Elizabeth Gaywood. We live in society where we watch and see advertisement after advertisement soliciting us to buy and eat food that is destroying our bodies everyday.

Ever wonder why you sometimes feel:

  • Depressed
  • Lethargic and always tired
  • No energy, no vibrancy
  • Have pimples on your face
  • Have aches and pains
  • Been for countless operations and they still can’t find the problem
  • And the list is endless, you can add some of your own ailments

DEAR FRIEND – CHECK THE FOOD YOU EAT – BE CAREFUL WHAT YOU PUT INTO YOUR BODY.

The media is full of adverts and marketing that deceive us into buying food that is detrimental to our health.

Let me be straight-forward and completely zealous right now. Stay away from the following foods immediately and you will see an immediate change:

  • Hamburgers (Wimpy, Steers, Spur, Dros, and you know the rest)
  • McDonalds
    Fried Chicken (KFC (drenched in oil, Chicken Licken, Mochachos
  • Fizzy drinks (especially Coca-Cola I call it Stroka-Cola)
  • Crisps (Simba, Lays)
    Fried Chips
    Cooking Oil (use water or Flora light to cook your food)
  • Pizza (one of the worst foods to eat. Debonairs, Romans Pizza)
  • Meat (boerewors, viennas, beef, lamb) replace with fish or chicken(twice a week max)
  • Cakes, donuts, biscuits
  • Sugar
  • White bread, flours
    Any form of refined/processed food.

All of the above and others foods like it create toxins/poisins in your body and your body is put under stress daily trying to get rid of these toxins/poisons. If the food is straight out of the ground from nature, trust it. But if it is on the shelf and processed by a man (mankind) be weary. Always know that all these food companies do not have your best interest or you and your family’s interest at heart. They are all money machines. They first think money and then how to get you to spend more of it on their ‘dead’ food.
People are in sick beds in hospital, dying, feeling depressed, not enjoying work. Why? The answer is simple but not exclusive. Most of the time it is because of the food they eat. The condition of your body today is a direct result of what you ate yesterday. It’s as simple as that. Take it or leave it. IT’S YOUR LIFE. IT’S YOUR BODY! AND YOU ONLY HAVE ONE LIFE TO LIVE!

Our bodies communicate with us by giving us aches and pains, pimples, we feel depressed and lethargic. Why? Your body is ‘talking’ to you and you are not listening. You think the only form of communication in this world is through the use of words. How wrong you are! Communication is done through so many mediums -through our thoughts, through our feelings, through our sensors, through our spirit. We have been taught to master one form of communication (using words) and we have neglected the other forms to our own detriment and destruction. Let’s wise up and begin to learn how to communicate using the other forms. And you will see a profound transformation. You will begin to discover what an awesome machine, vessel, and weapon you really are.

Do you know what power you possess? Do you know what an awesome life you can live just by getting your body into shape and eating right? Did you know that you can never be sick again just by eating right? Did you know that you can heal faster if you simply eat right? Do you know you can think better just by eating right? Do you know you can start coming up with awesome ideas for your business and your employer just by eating right? Do you know your moods will be better just by eating right? At least start by getting your eating right. Then move on to getting your mind right and your fitness level right and so on. And all these things will come together as one and you will witness an awesome transformation that others will look at you with awe and want what you have. And you can tell them. Here we are, awesome specimens, powerful beings, with unrealized power. Why? Knowledge has been lost through the ages. Each generation loses more and more knowledge. Yes we are more technologically advanced but we die younger, we age quicker, we get sick so easily. We are generally unhappier than generations before us. We are more stressed out than generations before us.

When our bodies ‘talk’ to us – let’s begin to practice listening and then taking action. You will have fewer visits to the doctor and to hospitals if you can just learn to listen and practice listening to your body. Remember, you have to practice – you don’t become a master overnight especially if you have been living and eating recklessly for a long time. Stop giving satisfaction to one body part only – your taste buds. What about you’re poor cells, your heart, your pancreas, etc, that need real food – food that is ‘alive’ – food that is ‘living’? May I suggest that if some of us had our taste buds removed we would be able to easily adopt this lifestyle change? But that’s the easy way out. You have to use discipline, knowledge of the truth about food and the body, and action to achieve what is being advocated by me and other professionals.

Start eating healthy. Start being intentional in your eating. Bring your own food to work. Don’t trust others to cook your food for you. Be wise in how you eat.

Choose how:

  • you eat
  • what you eat
  • how you process/prepare your food (this is just as important as what you eat, don’t use oil, avoid frying your food, don’t overcook vegetables – steam them).
  • how you mix your food (e.g. certain foods should not be eaten together or straight after each other – more on this later and in the newsletter)

Consider the thoughts/snippets presented below from the book – “Fruitarian Diet and Physical Rejuvenation: A medical doctor’s personal account of his cure on a fruit and raw diet” by DR. O.L.M. Abramowski

“Up to my fiftieth year I lived on the common mixed diet. I had meat, bread, vegetables, a little fruit, etc., all cooked, I drank tea and coffee, beer and whisky, and smoked cigars. I grew stout and heavy, and, although I did my work as a physician and surgeon with the usual amount of success, I began to feel that I would not be able to stand the strain of an active life much longer, as the resistive powers of my tissues were getting weaker, and more infirmities presented themselves from year to year.”

“..Palpitations of the heart, sleeplessness, headaches, rheumatic and digestive troubles and other disorders made their appearance and became more and more confirmed……..An examination of my arteries proved them to be in a progressed state of hardness and brittleness…….We are as old as our arteries…..More still, I know now that I have my life and my health in my keeping, and that if I live right I shall prolong my life to its natural limit.

“….I declare that, accidents excepted, there is nothing more certain and more reliable than a life properly lived. We do not die, we kill ourselves; and mostly with our teeth.”

“…Where are the perfect specimens of mankind? And how many of modern men manage to live even approximately to our natural term….what about the state of health of man and his sub-human helpers – the domestic animals? Is their flesh really weak and heir to innumerable diseases, while that of the wild animals is strong and immune? No; the difference is not in the original flesh, but in the method of repairing and replacing their flesh; it is in the food-material, for we are what we eat.” No free-living animal ever tampers with its food. One single food is enough for it from year to year and through all the ranging seasons….Free-living animals will not ‘improve their food’, nor will they eat any unnatural or artificial mixture; they keep their flesh pure and healthy; they do not know disease; they know only life – full, buoyant life in constant health – and death.”

“Man, especially civilized man, is not satisfied with the single food offered to him by the hands of Nature. In fact in many instances he has quite forgotten what his natural food is, and looks with fear and suspicion upon the luscious fruits, the strength-giving nuts, and the ideal body builders, the grains in their natural state. He has for centuries prepared and improved his food. He has cooked and stewed, baked and roasted, changed and mixed the most heterogeneous substances in such a multiplicity of ways, that his whole food has become an unintelligible, and, for his body, mostly useless and poisonous mess of devitalized and disorganized food materials, which he is pleased to call “mixed diet.” This dead and artificial food is not only unable to keep the body alive and in repair, but is filling it with waste matter, and forms the pre-eminent cause of disease and premature death.”

Now read this (pay attention):

“In spite of all the boasted modern chemical remedies, changing with kaleidoscopic rapidity from day to day; in spite of vaccination and injections; in spite of serotherapy and organotherapy; in spite of all the modern artificial, electrical and magnetic appliances the general death rate of Typhoid and of the epidemic diseases is as high to-day as it was centuries ago. The deaths from Bright’s Disease, Diabetes, Pneumonia and Cancer are increasing in number every year, and only in the mortality from pulmonary Tuberculosis, when treated by natural means in its first stage, appears a slight reduction.”

“Sanitation and Hygiene have reduced the number and the extent of epidemics. But if you are once attached by any disease, your chances of recovery, under the usual modern medical treatment, are to-day hardly better than they were during the darkest ages of medical quackery, of human superstition and credulity”

“Since fruit has been our mainstay, and meat has disappeared from our table, since water and fruit juices became our drinks, since tea and coffee were reduced to a minimum, no disease whatever has made it’s appearance in our home, and we have lost all fear of disease or infection, while in quite an automatic way I have lost all inclination and taste for beer, whisky and tobacco.

The two children born since our conversion, a girl now five years old, and a boy three years old, had never had a day’s sickness in bed, and have developed in a way far superior to my older children, and promise to grow into as perfect specimens of humanity as the imperfect condition of their ancestors will permit.

And results with my patients? Well, they are simply phenomenal! Out of 166 cases of typhoid, treated with fruit and fruit juices, without any drugs or unnatural alimentation, only two died, the one coming too late (in the third week) under the regime….Of the cases of appendicitis, without operation or drugs, not one died; inflammation of the lungs passed into convalescence in from four to ten days without even a crisis. Acute affections of the bronchial tubes, the bowels, the nerves, rheumatic and other feverish attacks have been deprived of their pains and anxiety, and cured in the shortest time through fruit juices and fruit fasts.”

General Principles

“…Disease is practically restricted to Man and his domestic animals. Free animals are nearly always healthy, like the birds in the air and the fish in the water. The difference in living between Man and the free animals will give us the cause of Disease.

Free animals live on natural food and natural drink Man seldom likes natural food and drink; he prepares his food and drink.

Preparation of food means, practically, the application of heat to it, or, in other words, cooking in all it’s different branches.

Natural food does not want cooking, but is chemically changed – often killed – by boiling temperature, whilst a great number of unnatural foodstuffs are made eatable and digestible by heat. Cooked food is dead food

A diet full of dead material forces the body to great exertion in order to extract the new living particles, or to revivify those that can essentially yet be used, and thereby weakens the constitution; while, on the other hand, it must fill the body with useless material, often decomposed and poisonous, which we call ‘waste matter’.”

Waste matter, the product of cooked food, is the cause of most bodily encumbrances and impeded bodily functions. Nature may for a time accommodate this waste matter, but then it has to work under difficulties, which are the symptoms of so-called chronic disease.”

Now read the below very carefully and think about it before continuing to read:

“As soon as the bodily functions cannot go on any longer under the daily-increasing burden of waste matter, the process of life would come to a standstill, and death would follow, if Nature did not start a process of removing the waste matter.

This process of ‘burning off rubbish’ in order to enable the body to go on with the work of life is called Disease….”

Finally:

“Yes, I advocate Fruit Diet not only because Man is a fruit-eater anatomically and physiologically, but because my experience as a patient and a physician has proved to me the beneficial influence of the natural food on healthy, as well as on sick people.
The first will preserve their health and strength, their corporeal, mental and spiritual powers, to the highest old age, under a fruit diet.
To the latter, the sick people, I like to say as a last injunction, ‘Do not give up hope, whatever be the matter with you. Nature can heal where human wisdom and interference fails; return to Nature; live on Man’s natural food; build your body of the normal, life and strength-giving material, and you will find that the time of miracles has not passed yet.’”
